Faculty mission

The Faculty has specialised classrooms, research laboratories and a 'Training and Production Workshop' for introductory and training practices.

The faculty consists of over 73 teachers, including six doctors of science: Myrzashev S.M., Tilegenov I.S., Bakirov R.B., Junisbekov T.M., Suleimenov O.A., Tulenbaev J.S. Overall, 65% of the teaching staff have academic degrees and titles. Many teachers have inventor's certificates for their inventions.

Currently, the teaching staff of the faculty cooperates with the leading higher educational institutions and scientific enterprises of the CIS republics, these are the Research Institute of Construction of the Russian Federation, Moscow University of Oil and Gas named after I. I. Gubkin, Kazakh National Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev, Moscow Higher Technical University named after N.E. Bauman, Almaty Institute of Energy and Communications, South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov, technical, machine-building and agricultural higher educational institutions in cities such as Kiev, Kurgan, St. Petersburg, etc.

The strategy of development of the fuel and energy complex in the future envisages further development of the oil and gas production sector in Kazakhstan. Oil and gas production together with gas condensate reached 59 million tonnes in 2005 and 95 and 120 million tonnes in 2010 and 2015, respectively. Extraction of hydrocarbons will continue in six regions, including Zhambyl region. The Institute of Oil, Gas and Mechanics (INGiM) concentrates specializations for this industry, as well as a number of specializations in electrification and electricity supply, maintenance and improvement of machinery and transport equipment and road traffic management.

There are long-term agreements on the passing of industrial, pre-graduation practices, on employment after graduation with the national oil and gas company "Kazakhoil", "Atyrau neftemash" LLP, "Amangeldy-gas" LLP, "Kaztransgas" CJSC, "KEGOC" JSC, "ZhES" LLP and others.
