"GENERATIONS OF INDEPENDENCE" COMPETITION HELD

A competition titled "Generations of Independence" was held at Dulat University, organized by the Commercialization Department of the Science and Commercialization Department.

The panel of judges for the competition included prominent figures such as the Chairwoman of the Zhambyl Regional Businesswomen’s Council, Sholpan Kariyeva, the Head of the Zhambyl Regional Retail Companies Association, Viktoria Usmanova, the Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Seyitjan Orinbaev, the Head of the Project Management and Digitalization Center, Dina Tolegenova, and Gulzat Iskakova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Management and Master of Economic Sciences.

The purpose of the competition was to support the innovative initiatives of young people, encourage the formation of a creative youth community, and provide the necessary resources, knowledge, and scientific and technical developments to foster innovative startups and entrepreneurial projects. The competition aimed to promote a startup culture among youth and develop the best ideas in various industries.

The competition was opened with a welcoming speech by Seyitjan Orinbaev, Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, who emphasized the significance of the event. He noted that in the era of technology, every young generation has the opportunity to bring their projects to life, stressing that the key is identifying relevant issues and finding solutions. He expressed great hopes for the participants and their ability to generate impactful ideas.

Young people aged 14-35 years competed for the "Generations of Independence" grant, with a prize pool of 3 million tenge. This grant is intended for projects that promote new scientific research in priority sectors of science, enhance Kazakhstan's cultural heritage, promote folk traditions and arts, develop new IT solutions and projects, including startups, refine new business ideas in key sectors of the economy, and create media projects, including content for youth that is educational, useful, and engaging.

A total of 13 teams presented their projects to the panel, demonstrating their knowledge, skills, and experience. Each team prepared a project presentation, including a project brief, stages, processes, technologies, and results, as well as a visualized project passport. The focus was on the societal benefits and economic viability of the projects.

At the end of the competition, the teams with the best projects were awarded support from the university’s Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Seyitjan Orinbaev. These teams were granted the opportunity to participate in the "Generations of Independence" competition for the 3 million tenge grant.

The purpose of the meeting was to develop mutually beneficial strategic cooperation and create opportunities for youth to gain experience and skills, facilitating their professional development through collaborative efforts.

Mukhtar Kazbekuly extended a warm welcome to the guests and discussed future work plans, as well as ways to further strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership.

Total Energies is a well-known company with diverse industrial operations, including automotive manufacturing, metal processing, construction, energy, mining, and the chemical industry.

The faculty of the Total Energy Sustainable Development School conducted lectures for four days, covering five different areas. They also awarded certificates to nearly 660 registered participants, including local entrepreneurs and industry professionals from the region.

"DECENTRATHON 2.0" MULTI-LOCATION HACKATHON HELD

A national multi-location hackathon, "Decentrathon 2.0," with a prize pool of $50,000, took place at Dulat University.

The organizing committee of the event included Astana Hub, the regional Zhambyl Hub, the Blockchain Center Research Laboratory, Dulat University's Commercialization Department, and the Corporate Clients Department.

The goal of the competition was to provide young professionals in the IT sector with the necessary resources, knowledge, and support to develop innovative startups and entrepreneurial initiatives. The challenge for the participating teams was to propose new solutions to current problems and develop innovative product ideas within 48 hours.

In an online format, Kazakhstan's Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, Yasslan Madiyev, addressed the participants, wishing them success and expressing high expectations from the young professionals who would create global projects.

"Decentrathon 2.0" included participants from 17 regions of Kazakhstan, as well as the cities of Astana and Almaty. Over 2,500 participants registered for this year's hackathon, with 43 teams from Zhambyl region, comprising 113 members, taking part. They worked on solving tasks across four main areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Game Development (GameDev), and the creation of small Telegram applications.

Jaydarbek Tanaev, Head of Dulat University's Commercialization Department, spoke at the event, emphasizing the importance of the competition. He noted that in the technology era, every young generation has the opportunity to launch their own startup, but the key is finding relevant problems and devising ways to solve them. He also highlighted that the multi-location hackathon not only impacts national industries but also offers young talents the chance to contribute to the development of global technologies and artificial intelligence.

At Dulat University, with the organization of the Commercialization Department and the support of the "Science Fund" JSC, products made from camel milk by the "LF Company" industrial company were presented.

The event was attended by members of the "LF Company" industrial company, the university's Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Seytjan Orinbayev, and the faculty of the university.

The goal of the meeting was to introduce the new camel milk-based products to the attendees and explain their benefits for human health.

The scientific novelty of the project lies in the development of a scientifically grounded technology for producing new products by combining various types of lactic acid bacteria and using camel milk with dietary and therapeutic properties.

Camel milk, under the brand "Ak Altin," has a beneficial composition, including camel milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, and cheese. The albumin in the product is an irreplaceable protein for the human body. Additionally, it contains vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B6, and minerals such as calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), and iron (Fe).

At the end of the event, the producers offered their products and answered several questions from the attendees. Furthermore, the manufacturers encouraged support for modern, in-demand, and most importantly, natural domestic products, emphasizing that no preservatives, stabilizers, or artificial colorants were used in their production.

On September 20, 2024, an extensive exhibition of project goods and products titled "One Village – One Product" was held at the M. Urkimbayev Youth Palace, organized by the Women's Business Council, "Atameken" National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, and Dulat University. To promote the export of entrepreneurs' goods to domestic and foreign markets, three panel sessions were organized.

The main goal of the "One Village – One Product" project is to develop regions, improve the welfare of the population, and support entrepreneurs in producing competitive, high-quality products for the international market. The intra-university competition "DULATY HACKATHON - 2024" took place at Dulatty University with the support of «Zhambyl Hub». Nine teams of students from our university participated in the hackathon.

The main goal of the hackathon was to identify talented youth, encourage the development of their creative abilities, foster practical skills in presenting ideas and projects in the form of pitches, and expand opportunities for young people to interact with mentors and leading professionals in their fields.

The hackathon is a marathon for programmers, where aspiring students and graduate students from Dulatty University participate informally in solving IT challenges and prototyping their creative ideas. The condition for participating teams was to create an IT solution for a given task within a short period, specifically 24 hours.

Following the competition results, the **IT jastary** team took **1st place**, the **Hexagon** team won **2nd place**, and the **PICO PARK IST** team secured **3rd place**. The winners were awarded special diplomas, certificates, and cash prizes: **100,000 tenge** for 1st place, **60,000 tenge** for 2nd place, and **40,000 tenge** for 3rd place.

The purpose of the competition is to support startups and develop innovative solutions for identifying the best projects in the field of new energy technologies, ecology, cost reduction, waste disposal, and recycling. Eleven student teams aged 18 to 25 competed, testing their knowledge, skills, and experience while presenting their projects to the jury. For project visualization, the teams prepared presentations, which included a concise description of the project.

Special attention was paid to the social benefit and economic efficiency of the prepared project. The prize fund for the best teams consisted of monetary awards: 500,000 tenge, and the winning team would receive an invitation to the "STUDENT ENERGY CHALLENGE" competition organized by the "KAZENERGY" association.

The organizing committee of the competition included the regional manager of Zhambyl Hub, Aigerim Nauryzbekova, and the commercialization department of the Department of Science and Commercialization.

The aim of the competition was to support young professionals who have started or are planning to start an IT startup, and to provide innovative startups and entrepreneurial initiatives with the necessary resources, knowledge, and support. The competition also aimed to promote startup culture among youth and develop the best ideas in the industry.

The competition was judged by senior managers and representatives from various organizations, including: Ashymbek Abilgazinov, Senior Manager of the Business Projects Office at Astana Hub; Aizhan Rustemova, Commercial Director of the startup "The Fashion People"; Nursultan Orazalin, Head of the Product Office at Hamkorlab in Tashkent; Temirlan Berkimbayev, Co-founder and COO of Vector Education; Bekdauyl Ipdildaev, Director of the Zhambyl Regional Branch of Bank CenterCredit; Gulpara Tashenova, Head of the "Project Management and Digitalization Center of Zhambyl Region" under the Zhambyl Regional Administration; and Aibar Usen, Head of the Project Office at Kazphosphate’s IT Department.

In his speech, he highlighted that in the age of technology, every young generation has the potential to launch its own startup, and that the most important thing is to identify a relevant problem and find ways to solve it. He expressed high expectations for the participants.

According to the message of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kazakhstan's IT exports are expected to reach 1 billion dollars by 2026. Accordingly, the contribution of Zhambyl region to this goal continues to grow.

The competition involved high school students from grades 9-11, university, and college students. In the first stage of the competition, participants completed a 4-day training program. A total of 55 applications were received, with the top 30 teams advancing to the semifinals to present their projects. Following the semifinals, 15 top startup ideas competed in the final, where they showcased their knowledge, skills, and experience, presenting their projects before the jury. The projects included a brief description of their concept, stages, processes, technologies, results, etc. Special attention was given to the social benefit and economic efficiency of the projects. The top teams were awarded cash prizes from a prize fund totaling 500,000 tenge.

Based on the results of the competition, the jury made the following decisions:

- **3rd place** – AGRIBOTICS team – 100,000 tenge
