Scientists of the Department of "Biology", Faculty of Natural Sciences, organized by the Department of commercialization "Department of Science and commercialization" of the University met with Nazym Nurbayeva, an individual entrepreneur in the Baizak district, director of the farm "AGROMIX".
At the meeting, the head of the Department "biology", associate professor, candidate of Biological Sciences Gulnar Ziyaeva and Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Zhaksybay Tuleubayev got acquainted with the products of the entrepreneur engaged in mushroom and quail breeding.
During the meeting, a number of issues were identified, such as mushroom production and increasing the yield of quail eggs, creating a favorable microclimate and pest control measures. As a result, a council of scientists was deemed necessary to lend a helping hand in scientific terms.
Scientists of the Department" biology " proposed to conduct scientific research on the basis of a bilateral agreement. In order to develop mutual cooperation, scientists of the Department of "Biology" agreed to conduct research and development work on the topic "Improving the efficiency of mushroom cultivation".
INFORMATION SESSION FOR PARTICIPANTS OF THE "THE WONDERFUL WORLD CAMEL MILK" COMPETITION
On November 20, an information session was held for the participants of the "The Wonderful World Camel Milk" competition, organized by the Commercialization Department of Dulat University.
The purpose of the information session was to promote the health benefits of camel milk products produced by the Ak Altin company. The session aimed to showcase how these products positively impact the human body. Additionally, it provided an opportunity to demonstrate the ways in which students can expand their horizons and engage in innovative, out-of-the-box thinking when solving challenges.
Through this competition, young people were given the chance to establish professional connections with mentors and leading industry experts, offering them valuable insights into the professional world.
"GENERATIONS OF INDEPENDENCE" COMPETITION HELD
A competition titled "Generations of Independence" was held at Dulat University, organized by the Commercialization Department of the Science and Commercialization Department.
The panel of judges for the competition included prominent figures such as the Chairwoman of the Zhambyl Regional Businesswomen’s Council, Sholpan Kariyeva, the Head of the Zhambyl Regional Retail Companies Association, Viktoria Usmanova, the Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Seyitjan Orinbaev, the Head of the Project Management and Digitalization Center, Dina Tolegenova, and Gulzat Iskakova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Management and Master of Economic Sciences.
The purpose of the competition was to support the innovative initiatives of young people, encourage the formation of a creative youth community, and provide the necessary resources, knowledge, and scientific and technical developments to foster innovative startups and entrepreneurial projects. The competition aimed to promote a startup culture among youth and develop the best ideas in various industries.
The competition was opened with a welcoming speech by Seyitjan Orinbaev, Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, who emphasized the significance of the event. He noted that in the era of technology, every young generation has the opportunity to bring their projects to life, stressing that the key is identifying relevant issues and finding solutions. He expressed great hopes for the participants and their ability to generate impactful ideas.
Young people aged 14-35 years competed for the "Generations of Independence" grant, with a prize pool of 3 million tenge. This grant is intended for projects that promote new scientific research in priority sectors of science, enhance Kazakhstan's cultural heritage, promote folk traditions and arts, develop new IT solutions and projects, including startups, refine new business ideas in key sectors of the economy, and create media projects, including content for youth that is educational, useful, and engaging.
A total of 13 teams presented their projects to the panel, demonstrating their knowledge, skills, and experience. Each team prepared a project presentation, including a project brief, stages, processes, technologies, and results, as well as a visualized project passport. The focus was on the societal benefits and economic viability of the projects.
At the end of the competition, the teams with the best projects were awarded support from the university’s Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Seyitjan Orinbaev. These teams were granted the opportunity to participate in the "Generations of Independence" competition for the 3 million tenge grant.
AWARD CEREMONY OF THE "TOTAL ENERGY SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT SCHOOL"
A ceremony was held at Dulat University to mark the completion of the working visit of the professors from the Total Energies "Total Energy Sustainable Development School" of the French Republic.
From October 7 to October 10, 2024, the professors delivered lectures to the university's faculty and students on the following topics, sharing their expertise and experience:

RECTOR WELCOMES DELEGATION FROM THE FRENCH REPUBLIC
The Chairman of the Board and Rector Mukhtar Bayzhumanov hosted the CEO of Total Energies and the faculty members of the Total Energy Sustainable Development School.
The purpose of the meeting was to develop mutually beneficial strategic cooperation and create opportunities for youth to gain experience and skills, facilitating their professional development through collaborative efforts.
Mukhtar Kazbekuly extended a warm welcome to the guests and discussed future work plans, as well as ways to further strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership.
Total Energies is a well-known company with diverse industrial operations, including automotive manufacturing, metal processing, construction, energy, mining, and the chemical industry.
The faculty of the Total Energy Sustainable Development School conducted lectures for four days, covering five different areas. They also awarded certificates to nearly 660 registered participants, including local entrepreneurs and industry professionals from the region.
During their visit, the guests toured the university’s museum, located in the main building, where they explored the works of M.Kh. Dulatov. The visitors showed great interest in archival documents, historical photographs, and rare publications related to the renowned historian’s works and public activities.
The guests expressed their gratitude for the hospitality and warm welcome from the Dulat University team, and they expressed confidence that the institution would continue to achieve great success in the future.
"DECENTRATHON 2.0" MULTI-LOCATION HACKATHON HELD
A national multi-location hackathon, "Decentrathon 2.0," with a prize pool of $50,000, took place at Dulat University.
The organizing committee of the event included Astana Hub, the regional Zhambyl Hub, the Blockchain Center Research Laboratory, Dulat University's Commercialization Department, and the Corporate Clients Department.
The goal of the competition was to provide young professionals in the IT sector with the necessary resources, knowledge, and support to develop innovative startups and entrepreneurial initiatives. The challenge for the participating teams was to propose new solutions to current problems and develop innovative product ideas within 48 hours.
In an online format, Kazakhstan's Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, Yasslan Madiyev, addressed the participants, wishing them success and expressing high expectations from the young professionals who would create global projects.
"Decentrathon 2.0" included participants from 17 regions of Kazakhstan, as well as the cities of Astana and Almaty. Over 2,500 participants registered for this year's hackathon, with 43 teams from Zhambyl region, comprising 113 members, taking part. They worked on solving tasks across four main areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Game Development (GameDev), and the creation of small Telegram applications.
Jaydarbek Tanaev, Head of Dulat University's Commercialization Department, spoke at the event, emphasizing the importance of the competition. He noted that in the technology era, every young generation has the opportunity to launch their own startup, but the key is finding relevant problems and devising ways to solve them. He also highlighted that the multi-location hackathon not only impacts national industries but also offers young talents the chance to contribute to the development of global technologies and artificial intelligence.
Throughout the competition, teams competed by demonstrating their knowledge, skills, and experience, while presenting their projects to leading companies. The focus was on the societal benefits and economic viability of the developed projects. Under the guidance of IT specialists, participants had the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and practical skills.
MEETING ON THE PROGRESS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
A meeting was held at Dulat University with the participation of the Chairman of the Board and Rector Mukhtar Bayzhumanov, to review the progress of scientific research work. The meeting involved reports from the heads of structural divisions under the supervision of the Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Seytjan Orinbayev, as well as leaders of grant-funded projects and targeted programs.
During the meeting, Mukhtar Kazbekuly spoke about the ongoing restructuring of the university. He emphasized the importance of providing optimal conditions for scientists, freeing up their academic hours, and allowing them to focus on research and science.
Vice Rector Seytjan Orinbayev then took the floor, discussing the projects that had received funding and the work accomplished between 2023-2024.
Arman Kabdushev, Director of the Department of Science and Commercialization, highlighted the key aspects of the newly adopted "Science and Technological Policy" law and called for its implementation to advance science and technology policy. He elaborated on the need to integrate scientific achievements to ensure the country's competitiveness, and to address the strategic, professional, and social challenges of scientific work.
Additionally, the head of the Scientific Research Department, Martabe Zhankuanyshev, and the head of the Commercialization Department, Zhaydarbek Tanaev, provided updates on the progress of grant-funded projects and shared achievements related to young scientists, outstanding teachers, and commercialization initiatives. They explained the specifics of the ongoing projects and their successful outcomes.
The meeting also included a discussion of the university's first-ever successful "Megagrant" targeted funding program, with participants reviewing the work done under this program.
At the end of the meeting, the scientists presented reports on the progress of their respective projects, raised questions, and received comprehensive answers to their queries.
PRESENTATION OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS
At Dulat University, with the organization of the Commercialization Department and the support of the "Science Fund" JSC, products made from camel milk by the "LF Company" industrial company were presented.
The event was attended by members of the "LF Company" industrial company, the university's Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Seytjan Orinbayev, and the faculty of the university.
The goal of the meeting was to introduce the new camel milk-based products to the attendees and explain their benefits for human health.
The scientific novelty of the project lies in the development of a scientifically grounded technology for producing new products by combining various types of lactic acid bacteria and using camel milk with dietary and therapeutic properties.
Camel milk, under the brand "Ak Altin," has a beneficial composition, including camel milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, and cheese. The albumin in the product is an irreplaceable protein for the human body. Additionally, it contains vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B6, and minerals such as calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), and iron (Fe).
At the end of the event, the producers offered their products and answered several questions from the attendees. Furthermore, the manufacturers encouraged support for modern, in-demand, and most importantly, natural domestic products, emphasizing that no preservatives, stabilizers, or artificial colorants were used in their production.
EXPLANATORY WORKSHOP FOR FACULTY MEMBERS
An explanatory session was held for the faculty members of Dulat University, organized by the Research Department, Commercialization Department, and the Project Management and Digitalization Center.
The workshop was aimed at the faculty members of the "Economics and Law," "Pedagogy and Social Sciences," Natural Sciences, and Technology faculties. The structural departments conducted seminars on the competition documentation relevant to their fields and made presentations.
During the seminar, the Head of the Research Department, Märtäbe Janquanyshev, spoke about grant funding for scientific and scientific-technical projects, as well as the requirements of the "Young Scientist" competition. He introduced the key sections of the competition documentation and discussed the changes made to it.
The Head of the Commercialization Department, Zhaydarbek Tanaev, mentioned that the preparation of documents for the competition on grant funding for the commercialization of scientific and scientific-technical results for 2025-2027 would take place from September 9, 2024, to October 9, 2024. He emphasized the importance of technological and economic plans within the projects. He also advised faculty members to participate in explanatory consultations organized via the ZOOM platform by the Science Fund, sharing his own experience.
The Head of the Project Management and Digitalization Center, Dina Tolegenova, presented the current status of the university's IT infrastructure and digital services, as well as the system of events planned for this year. She also provided detailed information about the upcoming department focused on artificial intelligence, outlining its goals and objectives.
At the end of the meeting, the university's faculty members asked questions and shared their thoughts.
"ONE VILLAGE – ONE PRODUCT" PROJECT EXHIBITION OF GOODS AND PRODUCTS
On September 20, 2024, an extensive exhibition of project goods and products titled "One Village – One Product" was held at the M. Urkimbayev Youth Palace, organized by the Women's Business Council, "Atameken" National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, and Dulat University. To promote the export of entrepreneurs' goods to domestic and foreign markets, three panel sessions were organized.
The main goal of the "One Village – One Product" project is to develop regions, improve the welfare of the population, and support entrepreneurs in producing competitive, high-quality products for the international market. The exhibition was attended by the Deputy Governor of Zhambyl Region, Kanatbek Kaishybekuly Madibek, Member of the Economic Reform and Regional Development Committee of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Iskandirov Mukash Zulkarnauky, as well as business representatives from the region.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between M. Kh. Dulati Taraz Regional University and "Atameken" National Chamber of Entrepreneurs in the framework of training and supporting participants and creating unique regional products that have passed certification and are in demand. As part of the "One Village – One Product" project, the products will receive marketing support, be branded, and certified. This will increase demand for local goods and provide opportunities for export.
The event organized today plays a significant role in promoting the professional growth of local entrepreneurs and enhancing their competitiveness.
ONLINE PITCH HELD FOR APPLYING TO THE COMMERCIALIZATION COMPETITION
An online pitch was held at Dulat University, organized by the Commercialization Department, with the participation of Kurmangazy Kuraluly Omarov, General Director of the "Technology Commercialization Center in Kazakhstan" LLP. The event aimed to prepare the university's innovative projects for the grant funding competitions on the commercialization of scientific and scientific-technical results for 2025-2027.
During the online pitch, our university's scientists and research supervisors, who had submitted applications for commercialization projects, received solutions to many of their questions related to their projects.
WINNER OF THE FUNDING PROJECT IDENTIFIED
The winner of the grant funding competition for scientific and scientific-technical projects for 2024-2026, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has been determined.
The winner is Professor Rysty Kaldykhankyz, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, from the Department of Social Psychology, Faculty of Pedagogy and Social Sciences, M. Kh. Dulati Taraz Regional University.
Project Title: "Revitalizing the National Values of the Kazakh People through Modern-Style Toys."
As part of this project, Professor Rysty Kaldykhankyz won a financial grant of 350 million tenge.
Rysty Kaldykhankyz's project is one of the first projects in the university's history to win a grant through the commercialization competition, and it has secured the highest amount of funding in the competition.

Seijtjan Orinbaev, Member of the Board and Vice-Rector for Science and Digitalization of M. Kh. Dulati Taraz Regional University, and Serik Nurakynov, Director of the Ionosphera Institute LLP, signed a bilateral memorandum aimed at developing and strengthening ties in the field of science and higher education between a higher education institution and a scientific institute of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the memorandum is to strengthen cooperation through mutually beneficial business partnerships in education and research activities.
Under the agreement, the parties will collaborate in the future on organizing joint courses and seminars, supervising master’s and PhD theses, organizing workshops, roundtables, and conferences, participating in job fairs, providing industrial internships for students, supporting graduate employment, commercializing research, and participating together in grant funding competitions for contractual research, among other methods of mutual cooperation.

The goal of the meeting was to discuss competitive projects for grant funding, address various challenges in the economic section of commercialization projects across different sectors, and explore opportunities for collaborative work.
The meeting was attended by the university's vice-deans of scientific work, scholars and young scientists, as well as leaders and executors of commercialization competitions.
During the meeting, project leaders asked expert Gulzat Kuanishbaykyzy various questions and shared their opinions.
In the future, the expert and scientists will continue to discuss and work on the economic sections of commercialization projects.
The intra-university competition "DULATY HACKATHON - 2024" took place at Dulatty University with the support of «Zhambyl Hub». Nine teams of students from our university participated in the hackathon.
The main goal of the hackathon was to identify talented youth, encourage the development of their creative abilities, foster practical skills in presenting ideas and projects in the form of pitches, and expand opportunities for young people to interact with mentors and leading professionals in their fields.
The hackathon is a marathon for programmers, where aspiring students and graduate students from Dulatty University participate informally in solving IT challenges and prototyping their creative ideas. The condition for participating teams was to create an IT solution for a given task within a short period, specifically 24 hours.
Following the competition results, the **IT jastary** team took **1st place**, the **Hexagon** team won **2nd place**, and the **PICO PARK IST** team secured **3rd place**. The winners were awarded special diplomas, certificates, and cash prizes: **100,000 tenge** for 1st place, **60,000 tenge** for 2nd place, and **40,000 tenge** for 3rd place.
It is worth noting that the sponsors of the **DULATY HACKATHON-2024** were **Zhambyl Hub** – the regional branch of the Astana Hub Technopark, and **"VKUS – tasty sushi"**. At the walls of Dulatty University, the team intellectual competition of startups "DULATY START-UP-2024: Student Energy Challenge" took place.

Seitjan Orynbaev, Vice-Rector for Science and Digitalization, opened the competition with a congratulatory speech and emphasized the importance of the startup in the energy and ecology sectors. He noted that this is a competition of projects aimed at solving environmental and energy issues in the regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He also mentioned that he hopes the prize fund will serve as the first investment in the development of participants' projects.
Eleven student teams aged 18 to 25 competed, testing their knowledge, skills, and experience while presenting their projects to the jury. A brief description of the project, its stages, processes, technology, results, etc., was presented to showcase the project. For project visualization, the teams prepared presentations, which included a concise description of the project.
Special attention was paid to the social benefit and economic efficiency of the prepared project. The prize fund for the best teams consisted of monetary awards: 500,000 tenge, and the winning team would receive an invitation to the "STUDENT ENERGY CHALLENGE" competition organized by the "KAZENERGY" association.

"IDEA BATTLE DEMO DAY" TEAM STARTUP COMPETITION HELD
The final of the "Idea Battle Demo Day" team startup competition took place at Dulat University with the support of the regional branch of the "Astana Hub" International IT Startup Technopark, Zhambyl Hub. The organizing committee of the competition included the regional manager of Zhambyl Hub, Aigerim Nauryzbekova, and the commercialization department of the Department of Science and Commercialization.
The aim of the competition was to support young professionals who have started or are planning to start an IT startup, and to provide innovative startups and entrepreneurial initiatives with the necessary resources, knowledge, and support. The competition also aimed to promote startup culture among youth and develop the best ideas in the industry.
The competition was judged by senior managers and representatives from various organizations, including: Ashymbek Abilgazinov, Senior Manager of the Business Projects Office at Astana Hub; Aizhan Rustemova, Commercial Director of the startup "The Fashion People"; Nursultan Orazalin, Head of the Product Office at Hamkorlab in Tashkent; Temirlan Berkimbayev, Co-founder and COO of Vector Education; Bekdauyl Ipdildaev, Director of the Zhambyl Regional Branch of Bank CenterCredit; Gulpara Tashenova, Head of the "Project Management and Digitalization Center of Zhambyl Region" under the Zhambyl Regional Administration; and Aibar Usen, Head of the Project Office at Kazphosphate’s IT Department.
The competition was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Member of the Board, Seitjan Orinbayev, who emphasized the importance of startups. In his speech, he highlighted that in the age of technology, every young generation has the potential to launch its own startup, and that the most important thing is to identify a relevant problem and find ways to solve it. He expressed high expectations for the participants.
According to the message of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kazakhstan's IT exports are expected to reach 1 billion dollars by 2026. Accordingly, the contribution of Zhambyl region to this goal continues to grow.
The competition involved high school students from grades 9-11, university, and college students. In the first stage of the competition, participants completed a 4-day training program. A total of 55 applications were received, with the top 30 teams advancing to the semifinals to present their projects. Following the semifinals, 15 top startup ideas competed in the final, where they showcased their knowledge, skills, and experience, presenting their projects before the jury. The projects included a brief description of their concept, stages, processes, technologies, results, etc. Special attention was given to the social benefit and economic efficiency of the projects. The top teams were awarded cash prizes from a prize fund totaling 500,000 tenge.
Based on the results of the competition, the jury made the following decisions:

- **2nd place** – HELP FOR MUTES team – 150,000 tenge
- **3rd place** – AGRIBOTICS team – 100,000 tenge
