I am Sultanova Assem, a 3rd year student at the Faculty of Ustaz, specialising in Training of foreign language teachers. I went to study in Bulgaria for the spring semester under the Erasmus+ programme. I am studying at St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia. The university is very big and has many faculties and buildings. We are lucky, our Faculty of Pedagogy building is in the main building in the centre of Sofia. All the teachers are demanding but kind. They are always ready to help. The language of instruction is English. The lessons are mostly discussion based: when you are given a topic, you prepare for it, then in the next lesson, you discuss, express your opinion, discuss with other students and answer questions regarding the topic. At the Faculty of Pedagogy, foreign students in the Erasmus programme are kept separate. You have separate classes from the Bulgarian students. There are usually no more than 4-5 students per subject. This is good because the teacher pays attention to each student, everyone has time to express their opinion and answer questions.
