The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced the winner of a competition for grant funding for scientific and technical projects for 2024–2026.

The winner was Professor of the Department of Social Psychology of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Social Sciences of the Taraz Regional University named after M.Kh. Dulati, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Rysty Qaldykhanqyzy Kerimbaeva.

The project's theme is "Reviving the National Values ​​of the Kazakh People Through Modern Toys." As part of this project, Professor Rysty Qaldykhanqyzy received a grant of 350 million tenge.

Rysty Qaldykhanqyzy's project became the first in the university's history to win a grant in the commercialization competition, and was also one of the projects that received the most funding in the competition. We wish Professor Rysty Khanym success in her scientific research, inspiration, and creative achievements!

A ceremony was held at Dulat University to mark the completion of the working visit of the professors from the Total Energies "Total Energy Sustainable Development School" of the French Republic.

From October 7 to October 10, 2024, the professors delivered lectures to the university's faculty and students on the following topics, sharing their expertise and experience:

  • "Developing Talent and Leadership" by Professor Hervé Oberreiner
  • "Occupational Safety and Security Principles: Preventing Major Accidents" by Professor Terry Cooper
  • "Development Strategy of a Large Company: Relations with States – Economics – Sustainable Development" by Professor Jean-Pierre Cordier
  • "Crisis Management and Communication" by Professor Philippe Gais
  • "Climate Change and the Energy Transition" by Professor Xavier Limpens

The ceremonial event was opened by the university's Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Seytjan Orinbayev, who mentioned that in addition to the university’s students, faculty, and scientists, local entrepreneurs and industry professionals from the region also participated in the lectures to enhance their qualifications. He expressed gratitude to the professors for their contribution to the social and economic development of the country and awarded them with Letters of Appreciation.

In his turn, Thierry Plezan, CEO of Total Energies Renewables Services Kazakhstan, thanked Dulat University for the opportunity to develop mutually beneficial strategic cooperation, exchange experiences, and leverage knowledge and skills through the partnership.

A competition titled "Generations of Independence" was held at Dulat University, organized by the Commercialization Department of the Science and Commercialization Department.

The panel of judges for the competition included prominent figures such as the Chairwoman of the Zhambyl Regional Businesswomen’s Council, Sholpan Kariyeva, the Head of the Zhambyl Regional Retail Companies Association, Viktoria Usmanova, the Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Seyitjan Orinbaev, the Head of the Project Management and Digitalization Center, Dina Tolegenova, and Gulzat Iskakova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Management and Master of Economic Sciences.

The purpose of the competition was to support the innovative initiatives of young people, encourage the formation of a creative youth community, and provide the necessary resources, knowledge, and scientific and technical developments to foster innovative startups and entrepreneurial projects. The competition aimed to promote a startup culture among youth and develop the best ideas in various industries.

The competition was opened with a welcoming speech by Seyitjan Orinbaev, Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, who emphasized the significance of the event. He noted that in the era of technology, every young generation has the opportunity to bring their projects to life, stressing that the key is identifying relevant issues and finding solutions. He expressed great hopes for the participants and their ability to generate impactful ideas.

Young people aged 14-35 years competed for the "Generations of Independence" grant, with a prize pool of 3 million tenge. This grant is intended for projects that promote new scientific research in priority sectors of science, enhance Kazakhstan's cultural heritage, promote folk traditions and arts, develop new IT solutions and projects, including startups, refine new business ideas in key sectors of the economy, and create media projects, including content for youth that is educational, useful, and engaging.

A total of 13 teams presented their projects to the panel, demonstrating their knowledge, skills, and experience. Each team prepared a project presentation, including a project brief, stages, processes, technologies, and results, as well as a visualized project passport. The focus was on the societal benefits and economic viability of the projects.

At the end of the competition, the teams with the best projects were awarded support from the university’s Vice Rector for Science and Digitalization, Seyitjan Orinbaev. These teams were granted the opportunity to participate in the "Generations of Independence" competition for the 3 million tenge grant.

On November 20, an information session was held for the participants of the "The Wonderful World Camel Milk" competition, organized by the Commercialization Department of Dulat University.

The purpose of the information session was to promote the health benefits of camel milk products produced by the Ak Altin company. The session aimed to showcase how these products positively impact the human body. Additionally, it provided an opportunity to demonstrate the ways in which students can expand their horizons and engage in innovative, out-of-the-box thinking when solving challenges.

Through this competition, young people were given the chance to establish professional connections with mentors and leading industry experts, offering them valuable insights into the professional world.
