Description of the Department of Music and Artistic Education
The Department of Music and Artistic Education is an academic unit focused on teacher education. The Department prepares professional teachers capable of carrying out pedagogical activities in general secondary, technical and vocational, and supplementary education in the fields of music education, visual arts and technical drawing, artistic education, labor education, fundamentals of entrepreneurship, and technological education.
The main objective of the Department is to create an integrated musical-pedagogical, artistic-pedagogical, and technological-pedagogical educational environment that ensures the training of professionally competent teaching staff. Special emphasis is placed on developing teachers who are able to independently, effectively, and creatively solve professional pedagogical tasks in the context of the socio-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The strategic development of the Department is aimed at improving the educational process in accordance with international standards of teacher education and strengthening the material and technical infrastructure.
The Department implements the following teacher education programs:
6B01402 – Training of Music Teachers;
6B01403 – Training of Teachers of Visual Arts and Technical Drawing;
6B01412 – Artistic Education (IP);
6B01420 – Labor Education and Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship (IP).
The educational process emphasizes the integration of pedagogical theory and subject-specific training, the use of innovative, digital, and information and communication technologies, and the development of professional, creative, and research competencies of future teachers.
The academic staff of the Department has strong scientific and methodological capacity and cooperates closely with educational institutions, employers, and social partners.
Graduates of the Department are qualified to work as teachers, methodologists, and organizers in schools, lyceums, gymnasiums, institutions of supplementary education, colleges, and other educational organizations.
The Department places strong emphasis on preserving and developing national pedagogical traditions and cultural values, including national music, decorative and applied arts, and traditional costumes.
